Color of the Season: Red
Artists of all time have gained inspiration from seasons of the year and fashion designers are no exception. We’ve seen lots of red for F/W 2017!Fall is the time of red, yellow, orange and deep brown colors. The tones are bright, rich and warm – lots to play with!
It is interesting for me to see that as years go by I gravitate towards color more. I’m still a big fan of monochrome, black&white and pastel colors, but there’s just something about brights that is attractive.
Yes, colors like red can be intimidating and more difficult to pair, but I challenge you to give it a shot!
Wearing bright colors can influence your mood and sometimes even put a smile on other people’s faces. No wonder..! If you look around the streets in fall in winter, all we see are black and grey outfits on the dark and gloomy background. What fun in that?
So I encourage you to experiment! Even if it’s just adding a bright scarf to start, try it and see if your mood gets a bit better.
This outfit is definitely fall inspired – I almost blend in with the background. 🙂
I paired this cozy sweater from H&M with simple dark wash blue jeans and dark green shoes.
It may seem like a lot of color at first (gasp!), but because these colors are opposite of each other in the color wheel, they compliment each other. I would not recommend adding more than three colors to one outfit, but this works!
And finally, don’t underestimate the power and importance of a finishing touch on your face – red lipstick!
