Two Ways to Wear Thigh High Boots
Over the knee or thigh high boots have been all the rage for the past couple of seasons and I couldn’t resist the trend. In this blog post I show two ways to wear them!
1.Thigh Highs with Jeans
Wearing thigh highs over jeans might seem a little tricky, and it is! If you do like the look and are going for some extra warmth, skinny jeans are the way to go.
For this outfit I paired the jeans with a black turtleneck to match the color of the boots.
The trick for this look is to not make your silhouette look too “chopped”. Try to avoid too many contrasting pieces and pick one color that will tie the look together.
In this case, black color elongates the look and helps tie top and bottom together. The fact that the jeans are a little high waisted works in our favor too. The long necklace also makes you appear taller. Nothing wrong with being a shorty like I am, but I feel like we do have to be careful with long jackets/dresses etc. to not make us seem squished.
I also threw on a long beige vest for some pop of different color and warmth. Plus black chunky belt adds some texture and visual interest as well!
2.Thigh Highs with a Sweater Dress
The second look is my favorite way to wear thigh high or over the knee boots. I definitely think they are made to be worn with a dress or skirt.
I love the play of textures in this outfit: a more chunky, knitted wool sweater dress, thin tights and suede boots – cozy, yet sexy!
I kept this outfit pretty simple. The boots really shine and because the dress is quite short, you, again, appear taller and can show off your legs without even exposing too much 😉
I put a simple long necklace over the dress that is on a daintier side, but a bigger one would work quite well too!
P.S. There are a lot of thigh high or over the knee boots out there, but I LOVED these ones in particular for their zipper detail on the outside. Not only is it convenient to put on, but it’s also unique and pretty!
